Overview
Welcome to Signature Travel Network® Travel Expert Select™. These Terms of Service state the terms and conditions of use of the Travel Expert Select™ service and use of our website, http://new-signaturetravelexperts.com (the “Website”). Please read these terms before using the Website. Using our services, selecting a travel advisor, arranging travel through a Travel Expert Select™ advisor, and using our Website are all voluntary by you.
Acceptance of Terms
These terms address your obligations, restrict your rights and remedies and provide rights and protections to us. The terms include warranty disclaimers and limitations and exclusions of liability. By visiting our Website or obtaining service through a Travel Expert Select™ advisor, you agree to be bound by these terms. You agree this is a fair balance because the Website is available to you conveniently; and if you don’t agree or don’t want to accept these terms, you can choose to not visit the Website and not work with an advisor through this Website. If something is in these terms that you do not agree to, or if something is not in these terms that you consider essential, you can choose to not use our Website. By using the Website you agree to all the Terms of Service.
About Us
We are Signature Travel Network Cooperative, Inc. (referred to as “we,” or “us,” “our” or “STN”). Our address, which is a way to reach us as an alternative to using our Website, is 390 N. Pacific Coast Hwy., Suite 3200, El Segundo, California 90245.
Use of Website
You can use the website http://new-signaturetravelexperts.com to obtain information about Travel Expert Select™ and introduction to possible Travel Expert Select™ advisors.
Access to Website
Access to our Website is permitted to you only on a temporary basis. We reserve the right to modify any content or functionality at any time, without notice. We will not be liable if for any reason our Website is unavailable for any period, whether or not the unavailability was in our control. From time to time, we may restrict access to parts of our Website, or our entire Website.
You must use our Website only according to these Terms of Use, including the below Acceptable Use Provisions.
You are responsible to make any arrangements needed for you to access our Website and to ensure that all persons who access our Website through your internet connection are aware of these terms and comply with them.
The right to use the Website is personal to you and is not transferable by you to any other person or entity.
About Travel Expert Select™ Advisors
A Travel Expert Select™ advisor is a professional travel advisor who demonstrated to STN’s satisfaction an impressive level of knowledge, commitment to delivering quality client service, represented to STN that he or she visited the destination or experienced the special interest at least three days every three years, scored highly on our inquiry addressing other aspects of their experience and service as a professional travel advisor and committed to STN to maintain these standards. The designation applies to an individual, not to a retail agency an advisor may be affiliated with. STN does not guaranty, and the designation is not a guaranty as to, any aspect of your travel or relationship. Your advisor is not employed by and does not work for STN. STN does not control the advisor. Your advisor is part of an independently owned and operated retail travel agency.
Advisor May Offer Other Services
Your Travel Expert Select™ advisor may at times offer you services additional to those concerning the designation or special interest for which the advisor is designated. There is no restriction on services you may choose to receive from your advisor. The advisor is not a Travel Expert Select™ advisor with regard to other services.
Safety
Personal safety is a concern everywhere. No place, even home, is 100% safe. Some places have greater risks than others. No travel advisor can assure personal or complete safety. You share responsibility to become and stay informed about places where you will travel, by reading news, reviewing travel prohibitions, warnings, announcements and advisories issued by the U.S. Government prior to and after booking travel. Some information on conditions in various countries and risks associated with travel to particular places can be found at websites of the U.S. State Department www.state.gov, TSA www.tsa.gov, Department of Transportation www.dot.gov, Federal Aviation Administration www.faa.gov, U.S. Centers for Disease Control www.cdc.gov and U.S. Customs and Boarder Protection www.cbp.gov.
You should consider enrolling in the U.S. Government’s free Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP). STEP lets U.S. citizens and nationals traveling abroad enroll their trip with a U.S. Embassy or Consulate. STEP lets you enter information about your upcoming trip so the State Department can provide information on safety conditions to help you make informed decisions about travel plans, help the U.S. Embassy try to contact you in an emergency and help family and friends try to contact you in an emergency. PEOPLE TRAVEL TO MANY DIFFERENT PLACES, FOR MANY REASONS AND HAVE DIFFERENT RISK TOLERANCES. YOUR ADVISOR’S CONSULTATION, TALKING WITH YOU ABOUT, OFFERING, ARRANGING OR ASSISTING IN ARRANGING TRAVEL TO PARTICULAR PLACES IS NOT A REPRESENTATION OR WARRANTY THAT TRAVEL TO THOSE PLACES IS ADVISABLE, SAFE, RISK FREE, OR OF TOLERABLE OR ACCEPTABLE RISK. STN AND OUR PERSONNEL SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR COSTS, DAMAGES, OR LOSSES, ALSO INCLUDING PERSONAL INJURY, DELAY, CRIME, DEATH, INJURY TO OR LOSS OF PROPERTY, THAT MAY RESULT IN OR DURING OR AS RESULT OF TRAVEL TO ANY DESTINATION. YOU ASSUME AND ACCEPT, FOR YOURSELF AND YOUR GROUP, ALL SAFETY AND OTHER RISKS ASSOCIATED WITH YOUR TRAVEL.
Authority and Responsibility
You warrant that you are at least age 18 and have legal authority to make travel bookings with a travel advisor and agree to these terms.
Communications
You warrant that all information supplied by you or members of your group arranging travel with your Travel Expert Select™ advisor is true and accurate.
Separate Terms
A Travel Expert Select™ advisor who you may work with, and each supplier (airline, cruise line, hotel, resort, and other service providers for your travel) may have their own separate terms that apply to your reservation and purchase of travel-related services and merchandise, if any. Those are additional to these terms. You agree to also abide by the terms of the Travel Expert Select™ advisor you elect to work with, and the terms of each other provider, including but not limited to, payment of all amounts when due and compliance with the advisor’s and each provider’s rules and restrictions on availability and use of fares, services or products. You will be responsible for all charges, fees, duties, taxes, and assessments arising out of your travel bookings.
Government Information Sources
You should check government websites for information. Information on health issues in some destinations may be obtained at websites of the U.S. State Department http://travel.state.gov, and U.S. Centers for Disease Control http://wwwnc.cdc.gov/travel/. Information on security, safety issues, crime, requirements regarding travel documentation such as passports, visas, proof of health/vaccination certificates, health hazards and other restrictions on travel to some destinations and re-entry to the United States is at websites of TSA www.tsa.gov, U.S. Department of Transportation www.dot.gov, Federal Aviation Administration www.faa.gov. U.S Treasury www.ustreas.gov and U.S. Customs and Border Protection www.cbp.gov. Non-U.S. citizens may wish to check the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services website www.uscis.gov. The information in these sites is provided by the government, not by us. We do not represent that the information is complete or accurate.
Restrictions on Hazardous Materials
U.S. law and airlines prohibit bringing hazardous materials on aircraft on your person or in luggage. Violation can lead to prison and monetary penalties. Hazardous materials include explosives, compressed gases, flammable liquids and solids, oxidizers, poisons, corrosives, radioactive materials and many other items. A few examples include paint, fireworks, flares, gasoline, gun powder, lighter fluid, liquid bleach, propane, sparklers, spray-paint and tear gas. Many more items are prohibited. Some other items may be allowed in checked luggage but may not be carried onto the aircraft. For example, small quantities of some medicine and personal care liquids (typically limited to 3.4 ounces) may be carried in passenger luggage. You are responsible to contact the airline(s) to obtain information on airline rules and policy. Information on hazardous materials restrictions is at websites of TSA www.tsa.gov/traveler-information/prohibited-items and the Federal Aviation Administration http://www.faa.gov/about/initiatives/hazmat_safety/.
Insecticide Notice.
International law lets airlines spray insecticide inside the cabin seeking to protect public health, agriculture and the environment. This may involve spraying the cabin with insecticide while passengers are on board or while passengers are not on board. Some countries require airlines to treat the cabin with insecticides while passengers are on board. You can see a list of these countries and other information about insecticide treatment of aircraft at the Department of Transportation website www.dot.gov/office-policy/aviation-policy/aircraft-disinsection-requirements.
Limitations of Responsibility and Disclosure.
STN and the Travel Expert Select™ advisor do not perform or provide your travel and generally do not own or operate the vessels, lodgings or other modes of your travel. The Travel Expert Select™ advisor acts only as booking agent for cruise lines, hotels, airlines, air charters, bus companies, ground transportation, boat purveyors or owners, and other independent contractors providing accommodations, transportation and/or other services (“suppliers”). Each supplier is an independent entity with its own terms, policies, procedures and personnel. Suppliers are not under control of STN or the Travel Expert Select™ advisor. Suppliers identified in travel documentation are responsible to provide the travel services purchased.
Bookings are accepted by your Travel Expert Select™ advisor as agent for suppliers. Transportation, accommodations and other services provided by sea, ground, air and other suppliers are according to the terms in the tickets, exchange orders, vouchers, websites and other documentation. You consent to the use of the suppliers. You agree to the terms of each particular supplier.
LIMITATION AND DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY
STN IDENTIFIES TRAVEL ADVISORS MEETING OUR REQUIREMENTS TO BE INCLUDED AS A TRAVEL EXPERT SELECT™ ADVISOR. TRAVEL EXPERT SELECT™ ADVISORS ACT AS AGENT FOR SUPPLIERS AND GENERALLY DO NOT CONTROL OR HAVE THE RIGHT TO CONTROL OPERATIONS OF SUPPLIERS. YOU AGREE STN AND YOUR TRAVEL EXPERT SELECT™ ADVISOR ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY PERSONAL INJURY, PROPERTY DAMAGE OR OTHER LOSS, INJURY OR DAMAGE, WHICH MAY ARISE OUT OF THE SERVICES. STN DISCLAIMS ANY LIABILITY WHETHER BASED ON CONTRACT, TORT, STRICT LIABILITY OR OTHERWISE, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION LIABILITY FOR DIRECT, PUNITIVE, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, INCIDENTAL OR INDIRECT DAMAGES, IN CONNECTION WITH SERVICES OR MERCHANDISE PROVIDED BY ANY SUPPLIER BOOKED THROUGH A TRAVEL EXPERT SELECT™ ADVISOR, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION LIABILITY FOR ACTUAL OR CLAIMED ACT, ERROR, OMISSION, INJURY, LOSS, ACCIDENT, DELAY OR IRREGULARITY WHICH MAY OCCUR THROUGH THE FAULT, NEGLIGENCE, WILFUL ACT, OMISSION OR OTHERWISE OF A SUPPLIER, OR OF THEIR SUPPLIER OR THEIR RESPECTIVE EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, AGENTS OR REPRESENTATIVES, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, THEIR FAILURE TO DELIVER OR THEIR PARTIAL OR INADEQUATE DELIVERY OF SERVICES AND OTHER MATTERS OUTSIDE STN’S OR THE TRAVEL EXPERT SELECT™ ADVISOR’S CONTROL. YOU WAIVE, RELEASE AND EXONERATE STN AND STN’S MEMBERS/OWNERS, DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES AND CONTRACTORS AND THE TRAVEL EXPERT SELECT™ ADVISOR FROM ANY LIABILITY WITH RESPECT TO EACH AND ALL OF THE FOREGOING.
Americans With Disabilities Act
The Americans with Disabilities Act (“ADA”) and other laws and practices that assist persons with special needs and disabilities apply within the United States. Service providers outside the United States may or may not comply with the ADA and other practices common in the United States. In many places outside the United States, facilities for disabled persons are limited compared to within the United States. If you believe you have a special need or disability requiring accommodation, please assist your Travel Expert Select™ advisor by doing the following:
- Please inform your Travel Expert Select™ advisor at time of booking of any physical, medical or other special needs that require accommodation. After the time of booking, if a physical or medical condition that requires accommodation arises with regard to you or a member of your group, please inform your advisor as soon as possible.
- All guests must ensure they are medically and physically fit for travel. Tour and service providers may impose safety requirements necessary for safe operation of their tour and facilities. They may exclude an individual from participating in a tour or an activity if the individual’s participation poses a threat to health or safety.
- Many tour and service providers do not provide personal devices (wheelchairs, motorized scooters, hearing aids, prescription eye glasses, etc.) or services of a personal nature (pushing a wheelchair, assistance in eating, toileting, dressing etc.). A companion capable of providing this assistance may be required to accompany a guest who needs services of a personal nature.
- Many tour providers and service providers do not employ medical personnel. Needed medical attention may have to be obtained at local facilities, at your expense. Facilities may not always be available. STN and your Travel Expert Select™ advisor are not responsible or liable for losses or costs incurred in or as a result of medical services obtained while traveling or for quality of care or services.
- Some tours and travel involve rough terrain, lengthy travel, possibly bumpy, by motor coach or other transportation, walking over cobblestone streets, uneven pavement, steps and locations not easily accessible by wheelchair or motorized device or at all.
- Travel involves arrangements with carriers, hotels and many other suppliers to provide travel services. These parties are independent entities over which STN and your Travel Expert Select™ advisor has no control. Accommodations outside the United States may differ from those in the United States. There is no assurance of disability access or accommodations outside the United States.
Weather
STN and your Travel Expert Select™ advisor do not control weather. Hoped for, or undesired, weather conditions, including but not limited to presence or absence of snow, sunshine, wind, rain, warm, mild or cold temperatures, water levels on bodies of water or rivers and all other possible weather conditions are not guaranteed to occur or not occur. Volcanic eruptions, ash clouds, wind and many other events and conditions may be characterized as adverse weather condition or natural disaster by suppliers and your travel insurance company. That is beyond STN’s and your Travel Expert Select™ advisor’s control. Service providers may adjust, modify and/or cancel any itinerary or part(s) of any itinerary due to these events and conditions. STN and your Travel Expert Select™ advisor will not be responsible for air, water and/or ground schedule changes or other service provider adjustments, modifications and/or cancellations.
Force Majeure
STN and your Travel Expert Select™ advisor will be deemed not to be in breach of these or any terms and will not be liable, by reason of delay in performance, or non-performance, of any obligations to the extent delay or non-performance is due to any circumstance beyond the control of STN and/or your Travel Expert Select™ advisor, including, but without limitation, act of God, explosion, flood, wind, fire or accident, war or threat of war declared or undeclared, terrorism, sabotage, embargo, shortage of labor, labor strike or other labor strife, change in law or regulation, insurrection, riot, strike, civil disturbance, requisition, sickness, quarantine, government intervention, pattern of crime in an area, disease, weather condition, defect in machinery or vehicle, delay, wildlife, or other occurrence, condition or circumstance beyond the control of either or both of them (collectively, “Force Majeure”).
Any service provider or supplier affected by Force Majeure shall be entitled to, and may in its discretion, vary, adjust, modify or cancel any itinerary or arrangement or part thereof in relation to your trip. STN and your Travel Expert Select™ advisor shall have no obligation to make any full or partial refund.
Changes in Travel Plans.
Changes in itinerary may be made for any number of reasons, including but not limited to weather or other Force Majeure, at the discretion of suppliers and service providers. Changes may include, but are not limited to making a reasonably comparable replacement to any property, supplier, activity or area or other aspect of the travel.
TRAVEL INSURANCE.
TRAVEL INSURANCE IS AVAILABLE TO HELP REDUCE SOME RISKS OF LOSS FOR SUCH RISKS AS SUPPLIER DEFAULT OR BANKRUPTCY, DELAY, INTERRUPTION, MISSED CONNECTION, CANCELLATION, MEDICAL EMERGENCY, EVACUATION, LOST BAGGAGE & PERSONAL EFFECTS, ILLNESS, JOB LOSS, CHANGE OF PLANS, ACCIDENTAL DEATH AND DISABILITY, TRAVEL ACCIDENT OR SICKNESS AND MEDICAL EXPENSES. UNLESS SPECIFICALLY NOTED, TRAVEL INSURANCE IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE PRICE OF THE ITINERARY. TRAVEL INSURANCE MAY PROVIDE SOME PROTECTION TO YOU FROM SOME (NOT ALL) OF THE FINANCIAL LOSS IN SOME (NOT ALL) OF THE ABOVE CIRCUMSTANCES. DIFFERENT TRAVEL INSURANCE POLICIES PROVIDE DIFFERENT COVERAGE AND BENEFITS AND HAVE DIFFERENT EXCEPTIONS AND EXCLUSIONS AND OTHER TERMS. You acknowledge there is no refund if you cancel or interrupt travel for any reason and cancellation charges may apply, resulting in loss of monies potentially up to the full cost of your travel booking and related costs. Purchase of travel insurance is not required. Additional charges apply for travel insurance.
LIMIT OF LIABILITY
GENERALLY, YOUR TRAVEL EXPERT SELECT™ ADVISOR RECEIVES ONLY OR MAINLY COMMISSIONS AND FEES FOR TRAVEL TRANSACTIONS. THESE TERMS LIMIT OR EXCLUDE LIABILITY OF STN AND OF YOUR TRAVEL EXPERT SELECT™ ADVISOR. YOU AGREE THAT AS A SEPARATE AND FURTHER LIMIT, AND NOT AS A WAIVER OR MODIFICATION OF OTHER LIMITS AND EXCLUSIONS, ANY LIABILITY AND RECOVERY FROM STN AND/OR YOUR TRAVEL EXPERT SELECT™ ADVISOR WILL BE LIMITED TO AND IN NO EVENT EXCEED COMMISSIONS AND FEES PAID BY YOU AND ACTUALLY RECEIVED BY STN OR YOUR TRAVEL EXPERT SELECT™ EXPERT IN THE SIX (6) MONTHS PRIOR TO THE ACTION GIVING RISE TO THE LIABILITY.
Acceptable Use
You may use our Website only for lawful purposes. You must not use our Website: any way that violates federal, state or local law or regulation; any way that has unlawful or fraudulent purpose or effect; to harm or try to harm us or any person or entity; or any way that could disable, overburden, damage, or impair our Website or interfere with anyone else’s use of our Website. You agree not to reproduce, duplicate, copy, re-sell or purport to re-sell any part of our Website, or any service available through our Website and not to access without authority, interfere with, damage or disrupt any part of our Website or any software used in our Website or equipment or network or software owned or used by any third party.
Violating these provisions is a breach of these terms and may result in us blocking your access to our site, bringing legal action and exercising all available rights and remedies. If we determine a breach of these Acceptable Use Provisions or of any of these terms may have occurred, we may take whatever remedial, preventative, mitigation or other action we deem appropriate.

This includes text, images, artwork and all other content, elements and aspects of our Website. We retain all rights to the contents of our Website. The Website is not directed to persons under age 18. Persons under age 18 must not use the Website or services offered or submit any individually identifiable information about themselves.

This Website, also including above provisions in these terms, may provide links to third party sites. These links are for information and convenience only. We do not control contents of those sites and accept no responsibility for them or for loss or damage that may arise from your use of or accessing them. Contents of websites accessible from links in these terms, are not incorporated into and are not part of these terms. You agree that STN will have no liability arising from content, use of or any other matter or event arising from or relating to any link(s) to or use of another website.
