I recently led a customized group to Italy. We started in Sorrento, stopped in Pompeii for a guided tour; dined at a Michelin Star restaurant, experienced Capri and Ana Capri, rode to the top of a mountain on a "Secret Chair Lift", had sandals custom-fit for each of us, before continuing on to the Blue Grotto, plus a full day of touring Amalfi, before going on to Rome to see the Vatican, Trevi Fountain, and the Sistine Chapel.
Our next stop: Florence, with a lunch stop on the way in to Orvieto to experience a hill town where one of Italy's most magnificent cathedrals is located, to buy gorgeous pottery, and to enjoy the sunshine. That evening, we had a private dinner prepared by our travelers enrolled in a cooking school. Next, a trip to the Castello di Verrazzano in Chianti for wine tasting and lunch, a castle tour, followed by a tour of the smaller version of the Coliseum in San Gimignano and dinner back in Florence.
On our way to Venice - last stop before going home - we bought Murano glass, then enjoyed a Bellini at the legendary Harry's Bar, followed by private gondola rides. Our private water taxi took us early that next morning from our hotel to the airport. What an amazing and memorable adventure for all of us packed into 12 days and 11 nights!! Bellissimo!!
