Some of the destinations I’ll recommend include Dresden –a beautiful eastern German city, highlighted with a beautiful Christmas market, as well as a plethora of nice restaurants and impressive cultural sights (and not too far by train to Berlin.) Next, Rothenburg – the walled city. This is a quaint little town with a truly charming feel to it. And Garmisch Partenkirchen – just an hour away from Munich and very easy access by train or car – at the foothills of the German Alps. Also recommended is Zugspitze…truly a sight to see - especially its beautiful wood carvings. This lovely, quaint German town is not far from the famous Oberammergau – where the Passion of the Christ play takes place every ten years.
