I've been an Anglophile for as long as I can remember! I've always loved English history, so when I began my career in the travel industry it was "a given" that I would learn as much as I possibly could about this historic, compelling, and diverse destination in order to share with my clients. Not only have I learned about England, I've experienced England...first hand.
My most recent visit was for my best friend's wedding. Since this was about the 12th time I'd been to London, we chose to drive to the Surrey countryside and explore. After the wedding festivities, we drove to North Devon and took surfing lessons in Woolacombe - a seaside resort on the north coast of North Devon which is considered one of the top surfing destinations in the world! Once back in London, we spent another 7 days sightseeing, dining in lovely pubs, and strolling through Kensington Park gardens.
Our British adventure concluded with three days in Scotland before flying back home. There truly is more - much more - to England than just London. Here are a couple of tips: Take time to explore the Lake District (aka The Lakes of Lakeland.) This is a mountainous region and national park in NW England.
Next, make the Full English breakfast your main meal of the day. It's quite hardy and will keep you going all day. And ask me about Cream Teas...it's a great way to have an Afternoon Tea experience - without the full tea. Have I piqued your curiosity? Let's talk soon.... I have so much to share with you about this great destination "across the pond."
