I am so excited to hold two specialist designations for France and Honeymoon & Romance Travel while they work well together, they are equally fabulous on their own! My "Aha Moment" was almost three decades ago when I was in Paris for the first time, and I knew right then - looking at the Eiffel Tower - I wanted to be a travel advisor and create custom experiences that helped bring this feeling to life for people. That trip is when I fell in love with France, and it has never waned, only grown stronger with time and more visits.
From a long weekend in Paris to River Cruises through charming villages, adventures in the Alps or the posh elegance of the Riviera, I cannot wait to help you plan your amazing French getaway. When it comes to Honeymoons & Romance Travel, helping couples plan their first big trip together, or a multigenerational family celebrating a 50th wedding anniversary helping create memories that will last a lifetime... is the best part of what I get to do.
The more I educated myself and gained first-hand experience and was certified by The Travel Institute as a Honeymoon and Romance Travel Specialist, the more I knew that helping couples celebrate their precious time away -together - was the best job in the world! I am now a three-consecutive-year Conde Nast Traveler Magazine "Top Travel Specialist" and have a passion to keep learning all that I can, so my clients are able to have the best possible experience. My continued success is based on my personal goal to always listen and to get to know you as a couple or family - in order to determine what will make your romantic, friends, or family getaway unique and perfect - just for you. We were very happy with our trip. One very minor issue I already mentioned to Michaela was that our airline tickets always seemed to be towards the back of the plane or over a wing. For booking flights 7-8 months in advance I would have thought we could get seats more towards the front of the plane. One other thing - we went to an awesome luau but nearly missed it because there is also a luau held frequently at our hotel. We incorrectly assumed we needed to go to it & didn’t pay close attention to the address. Fortunately our luau hostess called to let us know. So although we showed up a bit late, we didn’t miss much. Might be worth making that clearer in future itineraries.

I was very pleased with how Michaela helped with the planning of our trip, from beginning to end. She took care of everything, she made sure we had everything we needed and answered any questions we had and was very responsive. She also let us know what to expect once arriving at our destination and how to navigate through it, which was EXTREMELY helpful. Michaela went above and beyond to help us find the perfect trip for our honeymoon! Everything about our package was suited for our personalities and interests. We had an amazing time, and we wanted to stay longer. Michaela was great to work with. She went above and beyond to answer her phone at 3 am when our flight got delayed 5 hours with no way to catch our connecting flight. She went to work right away to get us on the next available flight as soon as possible. The flight wasn't until the next day but she then contacted the resort making it possible to add on a day so we didn't loose a day of vacation. She is amazing to work with.

I would have appreciated knowing from Michaela that Brendon Vacations was a contracted party working with Michaela as it related to our reservations, vs seeing their charges on our credit card and having to ask). It seemed that our preferences were not being taken into consideration by Michaela or Brendan Vacations, whoever, was working directly with the reservations. It seemed Michaela was very busy and so a standard trip was what was being proposed (which she told me she was busy when I initially contacted her so we waited for 3-4 weeks before she was ready to work on our trip) . Reservations took a very long time to get finalized once we started working on the accommodations and so it was a stressful process.

This rating was likely due to working through a supplier (a supplier I was not aware of) but it took a very long time to firm up the accommodations. Our packing info and final documents came very late, just prior to our departure.

I didn't really feel as though what we were looking for was a focus. It seemed like a standard trip was what was being proposed initially vs what I had communicated in writing that we were looking for. I did appreciate Michaela's suggestion that we were trying to do too much and to not try to cover so much in our trip. That was a valuable piece of advise. When I asked for specific input on different things we were interested in, I was surprised that many of them were not familiar or that I should Google the items to decide between two different things (I just hoped for some personal thoughts vs my own research). In the past I received links from the travel agent for suggestions for activities. For any suggestions I received and accommodation suggestions I had to look into them myself , it just wasn't as user friendly and time efficient as my past experiences.

The last two nights we stayed at the DunBoyne Castle. I would suggest not putting guests there again. Our room was dark and dreary (although it was clean), the staff indicated our reservations were made for 3 single beds and so they would not accommodate the change to hook two of them back together and provide "Double" size bedding for my husband and I (we told them if they just hook the beds we would make the bed if they gave us the bedding). I was too tired to fight with them about it. There was very little to do in that area beyond our tour of New Grange without going into Dublin (which we specifically indicated we did not want to be in Dublin more than one day/night. The light bulbs burned out in the bathroom and they didn't have anyone that could put in new bulbs until after the weekend.
The rest of our accommodations were nice/fine.

Michaela is a nice person, I just feel as though she was very busy and just not a good match for what we needed since I had done alot of research and knew where we wanted to go and had a pretty good idea what activities we were interested in. My experience was ok, however, paying an additional fee on top of the reservations did not feel at the end like we got our money's worth (and we booked our own plane flights).

We have used Michaela’s services for multiple vacations with the family & friends and as a couple over the past 12 years. We always appreciate how well she listens to our “all over the place”, sometimes crazy thoughts and pulls together the perfect vacation experience. She’s planned our family & friends spring break trips to all-inclusive resorts in the Caribbean and Mexico, Alaskan and Eastern Mediterranean cruises to celebrate our anniversary and a family cruise to the Caribbean.

Michaela was a pleasure to work with. I have never been on a cruise before and she was not only thorough, thoughtful but very attentive. I appreciate all of her help and enthusiasm and will definitely work with her again and refer her to others!
