My two favorite destinations are East Africa (which includes Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, and Uganda,) and the countries of Egypt and Jordan (albeit separated by the Suez Canal.) We’ll begin in the Middle East. Having lived in Egypt for six years in the 90s, I so look forward to returning as often as possible.
My most recent trip last year included a stay in downtown Cairo. I visited the Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx. Plus, I took a “hard hat” tour of the soon-to-be-opened National Museum – where all the mummies and artifacts that had been on display in the old Cairo Museum – will be placed. And not to be missed in Cairo is my favorite lunch stop on the Giza plateau at the 9 Pyramid Lounge. This venue offers the very best view of all the Pyramids as you can view all three of the main pyramids - all in a line. Truly a breathtaking photo spot, plus the food is very good, and reservations are a must.
As a travel advisor for almost 25 years, I’m very adept at handling the different requests and requirements of my clients. My goal is always to craft the perfect, seamless trip that meets their specific interest, style, and budget. I’ve long learned that this is accomplished by truly listening to the traveler – i.e., my client – and working to create an unforgettable experience. And a final tip… after having lived in Egypt for many years, I’ve learned this destination is filled with culture, hospitality, and more – much more – than pyramids and camels! Next, East Africa. My most recent visit was for a Safari in Kenya. We stayed in several exceptionally fine camps in multiple locations and traveled between each camp via small 10-12 passenger bush planes that put you right in the middle of the national park.
Throughout my career, I’ve also done gorilla treks in both Uganda and Rwanda. I’ve hiked in the central highlands and Mt. Kenya and had the pleasure of being with the Masai locals in the southern plains that make up the Masai Mara. I’ve seen the Ngorongoro Crater and sought out the cheetahs while they were on a hunt in the Serengeti. I dove off the coast of Zanzibar to swim in the Indian Ocean. Now, are you ready for your East African adventure? Whether you’re eager to visit Egypt and Jordan or the many incredible countries that makeup East Africa. Wherever you want to go I can get you there! Let’s talk soon!
